There are a number of ways to pay for any treatment, the two main ones are:
Through private or company supported medical insurance
It is important that you contact and liaise with your medical insurance company prior to your consultation to confirm that your treatment is covered.
Before or at your first consultation, you will need to provide Sutton Medical Consulting Centre with your insurance membership details and, where applicable, your claim or pre-authorisation number.
Providing these details in advance will help ensure that invoices are processed promptly and settled by your insurer without unnecessary delays or queries.
Funding your own treatment
The amount will depend on the treatment required. Details of applicable charges will be discussed with you before treatment takes place. Payment for clinical procedure will be required on the day of treatment. Payment may be made by credit/debit card or personal cheque (accompanied by a bank card).
Consulting clinic charges
May we please advise you that procedures or investigations undertaken in our consulting rooms will incur charges.
In addition to the consultation fee, the consultant may charge a separate professional fee for any procedure or investigation they undertake. The clinic will also charge separately for any procedure or investigation carried out during or as a result of the consultation.
Self-funding patients
Once your consultation or treatment has taken place, it is the patient’s responsibility to ensure that all fees are paid in full, both to the clinic and to the consultant.
Any Centre fees must be paid on the day of your appointment. If you require a copy of your invoice, please request this from a member of our team.
The clinic accepts all major payment methods for clinic charges, except American Express (Amex). Please note that some Consultants are unable to accept payment on the day of your appointment. In these cases, an invoice will be sent to you directly by the Consultant.
For patients holding health insurance policies
It is important to understand that not all health insurance policies cover the cost of outpatient consultation and treatment. We would therefore advise you to check your personal policy cover with your health insurance company, prior to attending for your appointment.
Please bring your full insurance policy details with you to your appointment. We will raise an invoice on the day and, where applicable, forward it directly to your insurance company for payment.
Most consultants follow this process. However, some consultants require payment to be made by you before you leave the clinic. If this applies to your appointment, we will provide you with an invoice which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
