Providing excellent care, keeping patients at the heart of a treatment plan whilst using clear explanations is something I have always strived for and kept as my focus over the last 11 years of being a GP, and at Your GP Circle I am able to continue to provide this for my patients.

My name is Dr Jaswinder Bal and I joined Your GP Circle in October 2021. I qualified from the University of Birmingham gaining a distinction in Pathology in Summer 2005. I knew very early on I wanted to be a GP and started GP training locally in 2007, qualifying in 2010.

I was a salaried GP for 5 years, where I also thoroughly enjoyed teaching medical students, and now I am a locum and private GP and work regularly at a local surgery. I have been a private GP since 2018. Private healthcare gives me valuable time with patients when we can get to the heart of a problem and devise a management plan together.

I have an interest in Women’s Healthcare and have gained the DRCOG and DFRSH qualifications, and an interest in mental health.

I am mum to young boys who keep me fit, active and adventurous, and we live locally with my husband who is also a GP. I am a firm believer that life is about making memories and experiencing as much as you can, whilst learning as much as we can ,which we try to keep at the heart of our family.

Professional profile

I completed my medical education in sunny Sydney, Australia in 2006. After having worked in the Australian healthcare system I moved to UK to pursue clinical research in cancer stem cells, which formed part of my masters in philosophy degree. I did further hospital posts in Oncology and Intensive Medicine for 1 year, before completing my general practice training in 2015. I currently work in the NHS as a GP in Walsall and Smethwick.

I have also been working as a private GP for the last 18 months, which has been very fulfilling. I love the one on one interaction that comes with being a GP, and being able to be part of that persons health journey. I love that as GPs we are in a position to encourage them to make small real changes in their life that has a big impact on their overall health.

I have young twin daughters, and am enjoying discovering gentle parenting with them. I am passionate about health and nutrition, and especially how our diet plays a huge part in how we feel physically and emotionally. Travelling is what gets me excited, and music is my favourite way to relax.

Hi, I am Dr Rahul, one of the co-founders of Your GP Circle-Take Control Of Your Health. I completed by medical training in 2005 (University of Birmingham) and then my GP training (Dudley) in 2010. Since 2010, I have been a GP partner in an NHS GP surgery with clinical and non-clinical responsibilities. I have a keen interested in diabetes, asthma and COPD management.

I am also an accredited GP trainer, which involves GP trainees/doctors working alongside me for one year at a time whilst I help them to hone and develop their clinical skills as well as patient-communication skills. In relation to this, between 2010 to 2015, I used to run regular full day training courses for GP trainees based around clinical and communication skills.

I always place a heavy emphasis on involving patients in their care and decisions about their care, so that they fully understand what is happening and have options. Through Your GP circle, our ultimate goal and mission is to give people control over their health, and offer them a personal and exceptional experience when they consult with our GPs

Personal profile

I have spent most of my life in Birmingham, attending King Edwards School (Edgbaston) and then the University of Birmingham, and therefore this is home for me. Through the years, I have developed a wide network of close friends and colleagues.

My interests are cricket and rugby, and occasionally playing squash. Over the last one year, I have become addicted to audiobooks, which make my car journeys much more enjoyable and productive! I especially enjoy listening to books about self-development and other peoples life stories and impact they have made in various walks of life.

I am very much a people person and love meeting new people. I find it fascinating how we are all so diverse and skilled in different ways, and each have something that can help so many other  people.

I am married to Dr Neha, who is also a co-founder of your GP circle. Together, we have beautiful, cheeky and boisterous twin girls!
