Professional Profile

I am a Consultant Gynaecologist and Sub-specialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery in a tertiary level teaching hospital, The Birmingham Women’s Hospital (BWH). The bulk of my NHS work is in the assessment and treatment of patients undergoing fertility treatment such as ovulation induction and in vitro fertilisation. I am also the clinical lead of the Tommy’s Recurrent Miscarriage Service at BWH. Additionally I am the Gynaecology Clinical Service Lead and also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham.

My subspecialist training in reproductive medicine and surgery provides me with unique insight into how to provide holistic and expert care to women seeking fertility or miscarriage assessment and treatment. I can tailor advice to patients and provide links to several IVF units in the Birmingham area.

I remain research active and keep up to date with the latest developments in reproductive medicine and surgery. I have over 40 published peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and supervise PhD students in the field of fertility and miscarriage. I am regularly invited to speak at National and International conferences about my research interests in embryo implantation, miscarriage and maternal collapse.
